The Army Centre for Higher Military Education is a Ministry of Defence training operator reporting to the Army Directorate for Human Resources. Its mission is to ensure the coherence of command courses within the training provided at the four schools of Army higher military education: the Army War College, the Army Higher Military Scientific and Technical Education, the Army Staff College and the Higher College for Specialist Reserve Staff Officers. These courses are designed to prepare future active and reserve military leaders for senior command or management positions requiring a high level of scientific or technical qualifications.
In this capacity, it ensures the excellence of training through the close links it maintains with the Army bodies responsible for doctrine, lessons learned, innovation and foresight, as well as with numerous national and international players, both civilian and military, with whom the Centre is a partner.
The Centre joined the French Defence University in 2022.
