The Space Military Overview Course is back for a third edition!
From April 14 to 18, 2025, the French Space Command's Training Centre for Military Space Operations (CFOSM) organized the third edition of the Space Military Overview Course (SMOC) at the Diagora Labège convention center in Toulouse.
Bringing together forty participants from the four corners of the globe (22 nations represented), this five-day course, held entirely in English, presents an overview of the space sector, highlighting different aspects (geopolitics, technology, military use of space). The program includes lectures by experts from the military and civilian space ecosystems (CDE, EAE, ISAé SUPAéro, COE, CNES, DGRIS, FRS, AerospaceValley), practical workshops and an evening of exchanges at the Cité de l'Espace.
The course ended with a graduation ceremony in the solemn setting of Toulouse's Palais Niel, presided over by Colonel Mathieu, head of the Air Space Operations Brigade.
Six new nations joined this year's program, extending the international scope of the course. On the strength of this success, the SMOC, a training course offered as part of the French Space Defense Academy (FSDA), is a key event for sharing space expertise and strengthening international cooperation in space defense.
