Integration, interoperability and cooperation

To enable France to remain at the cutting edge of technology, the French Space Command (CDE) must be innovative, able to develop modern technical resources by working more closely with its institutional, industrial and commercial partners and by developing special relationships with trusted private operators. AsterX 2025 continues to illustrate the synergies that can be achieved and enables a strong operational link to be developed between the CDE and its institutional and commercial partners, in particular by implementing an innovative operational simulation platform, developed in collaboration with ONERA, CNES and the defence industry.

Institutional partners

CNES contributes to the development of skills in the armed forces and commits all its expertise to the development of future military space capabilities. As part of the 2025 exercise, our experts in space surveillance, operations and flight dynamics are participating in the development of the exercise scenario. They then break down the various orbital threats (aggressive approaches, collision avoidance, etc.) into technical data in the simulation environment. Some also participate as players during the exercise.

The NATO Space Centre of Excellence (COE) aims to be a key catalyst for the comprehension, improvement, and transformation of Space Power by delivering effective solutions and providing relevant expertise to the benefit of NATO and its Allies. The Centre is acting as Department Head for the Space discipline, and as Custodian for the drafting and updating of the NATO Doctrine for Space Operations (AJP 3.29).

In support of the AsterX exercise, NATO Space COE actors are involved in the Lessons Learned part.

Since the creation of the AsterX exercise ONERA provides to the French Space Command its expertise in the space situation awareness domain has been providing a major support for this exercise.

ONERA ensures the simulation of every space surveillance system whether state-owned or industrial; radars, telescopes and radiofrequencies sensors, therefore guaranteeing the quality and homogeneity of the observations generated during the game.

ONERA also guarantees the representativeness of the simulated events in low earth orbit by providing a full catalog of objects tracked by the GRAVES system.

Agenium has supported the French Space Command (CDE) since the first AsterX edition in 2021. As a key player in SSA and SDA, we provide validated COTS software deployed internationally by numerous space agencies and military entities. For AsterX 2025, Agenium supplies STK and other products tailored to the CDE operators' needs. We also offer AG SSA Core, an advanced system for data fusion and space situational awareness analysis.

ArianeGroup is a French-German industrial company delivering critical missions for the space and defence sectors. It has unique expertise in access to space, covering the full spectrum of civil and military launch systems. ArianeGroup is lead contractor for the Ariane 6 European launcher for ESA, and for M51 strategic missile for DGA.

Recognised for its innovative, competitive solutions, ArianeGroup has expertise in state-of-the-art technologies and offers a broad range of space, defence and industrial equipment and services, both individually and together with its subsidiaries.

Crisotech by ChapsVision is a crisis management and crisis communication consultancy and training firm specialized in crisis exercises. Partner of the French Space Command since the 1st edition of AsterX in 2021, Crisotech contributes to the writing and animation of the scenario, particularly in its intelligence component. Our digital platforms make it possible to integrate the "open source intelligence" component into the simulation for the benefit of the Space Intel Center and global threat analysis.

Holograph is at the heart of AsterX 2025 and space operations. Multi-domain operations planning software compliant with NATO standards, Holograph aims to enhance command performance.

Holograph enables all AsterX 2025 expertises to contribute together at each stage of the Plan, from mission analysis to produce orders and synchronize effects. Enhanced by generative AI, Holograph offers next-generation capabilities to accelerate processes, inform decision-making, and master the complexity of operations.

For the third year in a row, Exotrail is proud to participate in the first circle of AsterX 2025, with its team and its spaceguard™ software solution.

Delivered to operators and players in operation and planning cells, spaceguard™ is a critical solution to understand and characterize the space environment (Space Domain Awareness), up to the support for operations. Agnostic to data acquired by SSA sensors, spaceguard™ enables the detection of critical situations and enhances operators' analysis capabilities, up to decision support for maneuvers planning in a constrained operational context.

MBDA is a world-leader in the field of complex weapon systems, playing a key role supporting national sovereignty. MBDA is taking part for the 3rd time in this exercise with the Space Warfare Battlelab, a simulation model that enables armed forces and their allies to test and train on new operational concepts in low orbit, with concepts never before seen in Europe. MBDA integrates AsterX into a realistic C2 structure and is bringing its expertise to bear in a new field of conflict where the threats are real.

Look Up, a key player in space surveillance (SSA/SDA), plays a dual role in the AsterX program. Its SORASYS radar network provides precise, sovereign measurements, detecting objects smaller than 10 cm with an unrivalled revisit frequency. Its SYNAPSE secure digital platform merges this data with other sources to provide advanced analysis, real-time information, and strategic recommendations, guaranteeing an optimum view of the activities monitored.

As a trusted partner of the French Space Command, Safran reaffirms its commitment to AsterX to enhance space situational awareness. With our WeWatch and WeTrack® solutions, we analyze radio frequencies, detect, characterize, and track orbital objects to identify potential threats. This exercise is also a key opportunity to engage with operational forces and build a tactical and strategic vision in support of our sovereignty.
